Why Hook Norton Brewery Is One of My Favorite Wedding Venues to Photograph

If you’ve been exploring Hook Norton Brewery as a wedding venue, there’s a good chance you’ve already seen some of my work, the brewery has featured my images on their website.
There are some venues you walk into and instantly feel something, a sense of character, history, warmth, and atmosphere that you just can’t manufacture. Hook Norton Brewery is one of those places.
I’ve photographed weddings there a couple of times now, and every time I go back, I’m reminded why it’s one of my absolute favourite venues to shoot. It’s unique, it’s full of personality, and it gives couples something you don’t get in a typical wedding setting: a backdrop with soul.
A venue with real character
Hook Norton isn’t polished or predictable — and that’s exactly why it photographs so beautifully. The exposed brick, the old beams, the industrial textures, the warm tones, the brewery machinery… it all creates a setting that feels authentic and full of story.
Nothing about it feels staged. Nothing feels generic. It’s a venue with a heartbeat.

The Hook Norton Shire Horses — a moment every couple remembers
One of the most magical parts of Hook Norton is something you don’t get at any other venue: the Shire horses.
These horses are iconic to the brewery — huge, gentle, beautifully kept, and full of personality. When they appear on a wedding day, everything stops. Guests light up. Couples melt. And the photos… they’re incredible.

They add a sense of tradition and charm that you simply can’t recreate anywhere else.
